Our StorY
JDA is the premier youth diving program in Bloomington, IN. Our program was started by Drew and Jenny Johansen with the goal of growing the sport of diving in our community. Drew and Jenny have built three of the most successful and long-lasting youth diving programs in the U.S. Today they are located in Bloomington, IN with the mission to continue sending young student athletes to college, prepared to succeed in all aspects of their lives. With 4 Olympic Games and numerous National Champions between them, Drew and Jenny are the most successful coaching duo in the country.
Our Mission
To provide a fun and encouraging environment for young athletes to reach their personal best in diving, while teaching them lessons and skills to develop into impactful leaders of our community. We follow the philosophy of Olympism - blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.

IU Outdoor Pool
- This is our main training location and is one of the best diving facilities in the world. The IU Varsity diving team trains here, and this facility has hosted countless national and international championships.
- Located in the Student Recreational Sports Complex (SRSC) on Law Lane - between N Eagleson Avenue and Union Street
- Diving well with four 1-meter springboards, two 3-meter springboards, and a full set of platforms
Royer Pool
- This pool is a historic location for Indiana Diving and the sport of diving in general. Many Olympians and national champions have trained here and succeeded at the highest level.
- Located in the School of Public Health, adjacent to the Bill Garrett Fieldhouse
- The diving well includes two 1-meter and two 3-meter springboards with a very comfortable water temperature of 86°F
Dryland Center
- A facility that allows us to teach proper diving mechanics and basics outside of the water. This type of training is crucial to the development of our athletes as we are able to train proper fundamentals in a safe environment.
- Located at 633 N Morton St
- Indoor facility with four trampolines, four dryboards (diving board onto a mat), and floor area with mats for stretching and platform basics.
IU Outdoor Pool
- An outdoor diving facility that is available to us in the summer months, this pool is a fun change of scenery for our divers when the weather permits.
- Located at the corner of 17th St. and Fee Ln
- Outdoor facility with four 1-meter springboards, two 3-meter springboards, and a full set of platforms
