How can I get in touch with my child?
The best way to contact your camper is to call the camp director at _______________.
What are the workouts like for the divers?
The divers are put into groups of 8 based on the information we get at registration as well as when we go through our goal meetings. We put the groups together based on age, skill level, friends, etc.… we try to create the best environment for the divers to learn new technique and skill, as well as having fun. These groups will get a mixture of training in the pool as well as in our new diving gym. Campers will have the opportunity to be in both the belts in the diving gym as well as the water belts on both 1M and 3M in the pool. We also use our video library to help analyze technique and capture camper's video with SideLine Scout. The coaches will have specific and appropriate workouts for each practice based on the goals for the group as well as each individual diver. During these practices, we will have two coaches per group and will have one group per station. We will take time to help explain the techniques we are teaching as well as encourage and motivate the divers to make changes and promote an environment where the divers will gain confidence in themselves and their diving.
Is there video replay and video study?
Yes. We will use video every day in practice, either to review a dive just performed (poolside live), or to reference an example diver from our extensive video library. We will also have video review sessions away from the pool in a classroom setting where we will "dive" deeper into technique and help the divers understand the "why" they need to use their technique.
Can spectators watch workouts and where do we park?
Yes. Spectators and family are allowed to come and sit in the stands of the CBAC pool at the Student Recreation Center; however, they are not allowed to come down to the pool deck. If you need to talk to your diver please reach out to the Camp Director and/or the Head Counselor. You will be able to park in the gated parking lot adjacent to the Sports Recreation student Center. The first 2 hours are free and then there will be a charge after that. For more parking information please visit the Student Recreational Center page.
